Anyone mount Wetsounds MC-2 in clarion oval remote location?

Has anyone tried to mount the JL Audio MM100 or Wetsounds WS-MC-2 head units in/over the mounting location of the stock Clarion oval remote? If so how did you do it? Can you post pictures? I want to get Bluetooth streaming and zone control in my 2004 216TE. Thanks

I did a media master in my 2007 230 SAN and a 2006 210 SAN that had a clarion remote. let me see if i can pull up some pictures. My 230 had the stainless steel area that i had to cut out with a cut off wheel. it didn't take too long and wasnt that bad because it was easy to remove from the boat. It does take a few RCAs however. A 6 channel 20-24 foot rca would take care of just about everything. You could do an 8 channel if you wanted to make the bow a zone as well. But the MM100 is going require you to amplify the bow pair of speakers. pics incoming

That media master is lookin' nice distinguinguishedmotorsports.

Always wondered how Wet Sounds compares to JL and Fusion... anyone know how they compare quality wise (stereos, speakers, amps). Looking to install a new sound system ever since my Fusion started acting up (radio on the fritz, one mid speaker blown)

I’ve heard the JL headunits can be very buggy. The Wet Sounds unit incorporates led control which is nice.

The Wet Sounds MC-1 can operate LEDs with the addition of the 4 zone black box. The MC-2 does not support the LED zone controller BB

wet sounds quality is pretty good. I like their tower speakers a lot. i don't always feel like every product they bring to market is as nice JL offerings though. Wet Sounds amps are great, likely not as efficient as JL M series amps, but a lot more power in most cases. Fusion head units are the only thing i have experience with. the MS-RA70N is one of my favorite decks for boats. I haven't heard their speakers or subs. I installed a panel stereo last year and was pleasant surprised. wet sounds source unit offerings can also be "buggy" in my experience.

To follow up, I made an aluminum faceplate for the MC-2 that covers the old remote location.

I don't. I made a cardboard template for the face and then welded the edge on followed by a lot of trial and error belt sanding.

I am also waiting to hear back from a buddy of mine that does wraps hopefully they have one that will mach the chrome look of the original plate so everything looks factory.
