    '86 2001 Stereo Install

Go easy on me, as I know enough about audio & electronics to be dangerous enough to mess up my crap. I have read through this entire forum getting ideas, and I believe that I'm ready for the install. Since the 2001 does not have a stereo in it by default, there are definitely some challenges. I have 2 blue top Optima batteries and a Perko switch. I have the amplifier, speakers, and sub ready to go. I just thought that I would post some quick questions to make sure I don't screw it up. The image below does not include the CD deck, but I'm assuming that it will also use the same battery as the amplifier for power in a similar configuration. There will also be additional speakers, but left them off the drawing to Keep It Simple.

    1. Am I missing anything?
    2. With the boat off, will the stereo remain on?
    3. Should I charge the Blue Tops ahead of time?
    4. Can I ground to the frame, or is it best to go all the way back to the engine?

I'll probably start tinkering around with it in the next few days, so please let me know if you have any advise or suggestions, or if I missed anything.

    Thanks in Advance!
