Adding gps fishfinder to 95 Ski Nautique

Well looking to add a Lowarance hook2 gps to my 95 Ski Nautique to help navigate the river plus fix a very flakey depth sounder. Only issue is the hook2 only has a transom mount transducer. After doing some reading this may not work with an inboard due to prop wash. Has anyone had any luck installing a transom mount transducer on their Nautique?
Anyone have a gps depth sounder recommendation that uses as in hull transducer? Thanks for the advice looking foraged to busy spring summer on the St. John’s.
    Regards,
    Al

You should be able to buy either a thru hull transducer or shoot thru transducer as an upgrade.
i would put the transducer in front of the 1st tracking fin.

Transom mount will work you just need to be to on either side of the prop wash in clean water. I would look at the water coming off the hull while under power to see where its clean. An alternate and better option in my opinion is the find a unit that will work with a thru hull transducer mounted in clean water. I don't think tracking fins would be an issue when mounted off center nor would you want it mounted in the center of the keel. Use your water pickup as a guide and place it on the opposite side of the hull.
