Im replacing the amps on my 06 220. The previous owner had all the amps etc mounted to a piece of carpeted wood leaned against the factory amp location. When i was removing those amps I noticed the wood behind the carpet was rotten so i pulled everything out im starting from scratch. I looked into buying the plastic board to mount everything to, but i would honestly rather go back to the factory style mounted dieectly to the boat, trouble is Im not sure how far into the side of the boat i can screw in. Its visibly raised in the factory area im assuming for the purpose of mounting the amps without drilling through, but does anyone know how deep in the screws were set from the factory? Im thinking as long as i stay in the 1/4 inch range i should be fine and have enough meat to hang on to everything when the road/water gets rough.
