Dash layout on rebuild

It's 50/50 on the layout as some of the original holes were left in place.

my 79 ski nautique rebuild is ready for rigging, parts are arriving but work won't start till june.
The gauge kit came complete with a speedo, tube and hose.
only gauge it didn't come with is an hour meter, they're 90 bucks, so that hole gets a leftover clock.

there are 2 options;

1 lose the speedo leave the gauge pod blank and put the radio in the dash left of the driver seat.
2 put the tach and speedo in the gauge pod and the radio in the tach hole just above the wheel.
there are other options i gues but the speedo and radio in the pod won't match, and the radio alone would look goofy.

any input you guys have, i'd like to hear.

Having a hard time what goes where but for some reason option 2 sounds better.

Can you hang gauges in the holes to better see what each option looks like?

Yes, i'll put them in the holes that exist. Saturday/Sunday the tuffcoat will have reached full cure plus a day and the platform, seats and dog box will go in as well.

option 1 has the tach above the steering wheel as it was from the factory and radio left of the switches and ignition, No speedo.
option 2 has radio in tach hole with new tach and speedo where the original 2 speedos were
the gauge pod 2 speedo holes are plugged now.

If you're going to run non-stock gauges anyway, why not go with a GPS speedometer? Much easier to install since you don't have to worry about the pitot tube and the air line, and more accurate as well.

Thats a good point, radio and gps in pod, tach in original space. That leaves room for a 34 inch wide rear facing observer seat.

that seat was an afterthought but yesterday i figured out how to secure it using the bolts and hand knobs that are in there now.
