    Volume Not Working on the JL Audio System on my 2020 GS22 - Anyone Experiencing This?

    So after getting our boat in the water this weekend for the first time this season, I had a problem with our audio system. After the first 20 minutes on the water, the system stopped playing Pandora via Bluetooth from my 1Phone 11 Pro. I was unable to restart it (even though it was showing it as being connected), nor could I play any audio from the USB port, FM radio, or any other input source. The volume on the screen showed as “0”, and I was unable to raise it with the touchscreen or the helm command knob. Shuttling down the boat entirely ad restarting everything did not solve it, and when I called my local dealer they didn’t have any suggestions other than it may need a software update.

    Has anyone experienced this or do you have a solution that I can try before I have to drag it back the Dealer to have them fix it?

      Thanks Gator … I was hoping this would do the trick, but unfortunately after the reset I still had the same behavior. I can pair my phone, play songs via Bluetooth and access AM & FM, all of which show songs playing, but the volume was stuck at either zero or at 9, with no sound at all and no ability to change the volume. Unfortunately, it’s headed to the Dealer this week to sort this out so hopefully they can sort it out before we’re back up in 10 days!

        Did you turn the batter shutoff tom off for a few minutes? I have electrical gremlins in my 20 g23 and I have to use the battery disconnect at times to get me back to normal (this past weekend the stereo said mute and all volume levels were at 50)....and sometimes the blower works and other times it doesn’t...and I get an over current fault on the forward bilge....but I digress

          Yup, I did .... In fact, I left it overnight hoping that a long shut down would blow the gremlins out of the system. Sadly, I had the same problem the next day so it's off to the Dealer for them to troubleshoot and fix before we're back up in 10 days' time. I spoke to the Service Advisor this morning and he did say that they have seen this now on at least one other 2020 Nautique, and they think it may be related to a bug in the software update they did to my GS22 during the summerization service. Not sure if that's good or bad news, but if they determined it's a bug, worst case they may be able to back out the update until they sort out the bug. I'll keep you guys posted on how the Dealer addresses this and hopefully this will be a non-event for most folks here

            Update and a fix for my audio problem…..

            The Dealer (Water Craft Sales in Three Lakes, WI) was able to replicate and confirm the problem that I was having but were unable to get a software fix from Nautique. So instead, they went directly to JL and were able to download a software fix from them and all is well now. They did tell me that they’re seeing a few other 2020’s and 2021’s that are experiencing some similarly weird JL Audio issues after the latest software update from Nautique, so anyone experiencing similar issues may want to reach out to your Dealer to see they can pull down the same update directly from JL to try and fix your issue. Hope that helps anyone else seeing these kinds of problems!
