SUNNUVA- how to replace speakers in FCT- can’t drill the cans(?)

JL audio speakers are out of stock most places in the colors I wanted. I bought these but they don’t line up to the threaded holes in the stock speaker cans.

All I could think to do was try to drill holes in the new speakers. But obviously that’s kind of a cluster and it’s more of a guessing game and just not working out.

    KICKER 6.5" Charcoal Marine... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BNXLKT6...p_mob_ap_share

Should I order polks if I’m going to reuse the factory cans?

My only other thought was to go get some threaded stainless self tappers that would have coarse thread to bite the grill as well as the speaker and then just try and cut into the housing without breaking through the side of the speaker can. But obviously less than ideal also lol

what JL Ausio towers were you looking for? I have several pairs in stock.

Would not recommend drill new holes on the speakers or the cans. Your first pic put hardware right on the surround, which would likely damage that sooner or later.

IIRC the OE round cans use 6.5” narrow flange marine speakers. Meaning the average 6.9” (total diameter) speakers sold won’t fit.
