First of all, the manual SUCKS. The tower speaker amp, Polk 4000.4 went into protection mode where the red light on top comes on when it powers up. Only change I made was to add the rca from the Wetsounds 420. I turned the gain all the way down and still stuck that way, even after sitting for several days. Does this mean it’s permanently damaged, or is there some sort of fix? This happened before I ever got a chance to retire the speakers and bridge it for more power. Any help is welcome.

Start by unplugging the newly plugged in RCA? next, disconnect one tower speaker (at the amp) at a time so wee if the amp returns to normal mode. If all RCA and speaker outputs are removed, input voltage is normal, the issue is internal of the amp.

Issue is internal. Will not come out of protection mode. Throw it away and buy a new amp? Or is there some other way to fix it? My other 5000.5 did this a few years ago for no reason, so I’m thinking just crappy amps courtesy of Polk Audio and Nautique.
