    2022 g23 mediamaster 105 issue

    I just received my new 2022 G23 but I am having some issues with the new Mediamaster which is now a MM105 that JL is testing out in the OEM market. I dont know if anyone else is having issues but mine will not recognize the phone via USB, it will only charge. We have tried multiple cables and multiple phones to no avail. The other issue I am having is the bluetooth is very low, you can turn the radio all the way up to 50 and is about what I would assume to be half volume if the radio was working normally. Again, we have checked all settings on the phone, including the volume of the bluetooth, and cannot get it any louder. Its a bit frustrating that you can turn the radio to max volume and barely hear the audio while surfing. I have contacted JL and they are looking into the matter, just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issues with the new boats.

    For the USB connection: Get behind the radio and trace down the USB connection. There's a union between the headunit and the bulkhead port. I bet it's loose or not fully plugged in.

      Do you have a different phone you could try on bluetooth? If you're on an iPhone maybe try Android just to rule out the phone?

        That was my next step to try, even the meta data comes up on the MFD but only plays through the phone.

          While we didnt have an android user on the boat at the time we did try several other iphones of different series (I.E. phone7 iphonX). I will try my friends android while JL tries to track down the issue. Strange thing that even the play and pause option on the MFD is not working properly when we use the bluetooth (I.E. it will say its playing when its paused and vice versa).

            If I remember correctly there are two USB ports in glove compartment and one is for charging only and the other is for music/both. From a volume standpoint I had the same issue a few years back on my 16 G and it was a setting on my phone that I had accidentally hit that I had never seen before. I will see if I can find again the setting again.

              Try clicking the Sound Check option off under Music settings I believe this what I had accidentally hit during an update, if you haven’t already. Good luck, it’s an awesome boat.

                Well I finally got a hold of a tech for the oem side at JL Audio. He gave me the procedure to do a "hard reset" on the radio and voila it reset the radio to factory settings, kicking any malfunctions out. Thanks to everyone for the advise!!
