    Tower speaker replacement

Anyone replaced the speakers in these? My stock speakers finally gave out. I am pretty handy and willing to custom fab a mounting plate. I would like to stay under $300 for the pair.

JL Audio M6-650s or something similar. Wouldn't recommend the M3 series, not enough power handling. May through some poly fill in there too while you are at it. PM if you need help sourcing a pair.

How did you remove the speaker out of the rotating can? I would like to replace or re-cone but can’t figure out how to remove. Thanks

You have to remove the screw from the backside of the can

Thanks for the response, but I’m still struggling.
I removed the back screw but I still cannot remove the speaker, the Phillips screws on the speaker face turn but do not come out. I tried prying, but it felt like I was going to break the plastic. What am I missing.
            Thanks,
            Eric

Give me a few days and I will find out for you. My son took ours apart. He is at school and his phone just broke so I can't ask him. I'll get back to you in a few days. I think after you remove the back screw and the screw on the side the whole assembly slides out. I'll confirm.

Finally got it, you were right I had to take the side Allen screws out. Thanks,
