    Floor Mounted Sub-Woofer

Im wanting to install a 12" sub under the helm at the angled portion of the floor. My plan would be to cut back the seadeck and mount the sub straight to the fiberglass, which silicone and screws. I have been looking on here, and havent been able to find anyone that has done this. Is there anything behind the fiberglass I need to worry about to mounting a sub? Seem like its hollow behind it?

Any other concerns or thoughts about this?

Is this a G23? If so mount the sub in the same location that the factory mounts it for the studio elite system which is behind the angled panel. Access is gained by removing the bow backrest that is below the windshield. I'm pretty sure I have posted pics on how to do this on this forum before.

Its a G21, and yes I have seen the posting about mounting the second sub inside the cockpit cavity, however I am specifically looking to mount the sub on the outside of the cavity of the drivers helm in the angled area stated. I just need to confirm there is nothing behind that angled portion so the sub will fit. Thanks for sharing.

I highly doubt it will fit there.

Well I made it happen. I thought for sure I'd need to put a 1" spacer on there, but it worked out great.....now I have an RGB 12" woofer firing up into the drivers helm.

Are you at all concerned about damaging it? I feel like I'd put a size 14 foot through it at some point.

Well its a marine grade subwoofer and the grill is pretty solid. If you have a size 14 foot, then youre probably pretty tall...Im 5'10", so I'd have to really want to stick my foot into the thing to really damage it, so Im not too worried. My old M235 had a subwoofer there, and Tige' boats also keep subs there, so I am sure it will be fine.

                Guess this summer will tell....

Nice work! I'm guessing you didn't have the Studio Elite system that already had the 2nd sub inside of that area?

I didnt buy my boat brand new, so the previous owner already had it taken to a local shop where they upgraded the tower speakers with an additional amp for 4 - REV 8 tower speakers, but it did come with the M series elite package from the factory, but there was only 1 - 10 in woofer in the port side cubby. No woofer on the helm side.

Nice work! I wish Nautique didn’t put all their subs hidden in compartments. I’d see if you could get that white grill color matched to your grey vinyl.

Yeah....I am glad I did this upgrade...it sounds amazing...between the sub and the DS18 soundbar I put in up top.....it was definitely a hit this past weekend in party cove!!! LOL. You know I could have the grill painted or plastic dipped, but it have to match the Tungsten Gray or Reef Blue......my boat already has white throughout, so not a big deal.
