    Component speakers

Anyone ever done component speakers in their SN? I'm selling a car of mine that has a killer stereo in it (that I'm pulling out). The speakers are MB Quart components. I'm trying to find a place to mount the tweaters. Was thinking of making some pods or something.

    Any ideas out there?

just cut out holes for the tweeters, and flush mount them.

But where? Not on the dash. They should be pointing towards the driver/passenger's ears.

for the one under the dash, just put the tweeter next to the midrange driver. for the other 3, there is room above each midrange driver to recess a tweeter.

I wanted to do exactly this when installing the system on my boat, but when it was my brother's at the time, and he wanted the stock look.

MB Quartz are nice speakers....are you sure they will hold up in the marine environment? I know my crossovers for my BA's are vented and I would be worried about moisture getting in there. You know JL Audio and Kicker both have a really nice marine line thats sealed to prevent corosion and other mosture related problems.

Dont know if they will hold up or not. I dont ski in the rain, so they wont get wet. I'm just using what I have. They are $1k/pair that will just be sitting around if I dont use them. The sub i'll be using is JL Audio. Not the marine one, but it will be under the closed bow, so should be ok.

those speakers will get a bit corroded with time, even the sub in the bow. but it will take years to wear them out so bad that they stop working.

              JL Audios are nice!
