Need some help with some stereo upgrades on my boat...
Here’s the gear I have in my boat...I'm pretty positive it's all stock.
2 Amps- Stock Polk PA D4000.4 and 5000.5
1 Sub- Stock Polk 10” behind the driver seat
6 Bow and Rear Cabin Speakers- Stock Polk 6'5
2 Swivel Tower speakers- Stock Polk 6.5
2 Tower Speakers- Stock Roswell -not sure the details about these
And the Clarion Receiver in the Glove Box
My plans are to get:
(6) M3-650 JL Audio Speakers for the Rear and Bow of the boat
(2) M6-650 JL Audio Speakers for the Swivel Tower
(1) M3-10 JL Audio Subwoofer
(1) M608BT 4-Zone Clarion Receiver
Sorry for all the questions in advance...
I'm not educated much at all with audio systems, just trying to do what I can myself. I'm trying to avoid having to buy new amps so I'm curious if what I have already will work with what I'm trying to buy. I'll do a little explaining so yall know what I'm thinking...... I went for the (2) M6 for the swivel tower speakers just because I figured they would be louder- If that's not the case I will do all of the cabin/swivel speakers the M3's. I went with the Clarion Receiver hoping I could still control it through the LINC system?? Not sure if that's the case or not though. I'm also holding back on replacing the 2 Roswell Speakers right now because of price/decision making....I plan on getting to that in the near future.
Also, when I'm ready to replace the Roswell Tower Speakers will I lose my horn and lights??? and If I bought speakers with LED lights in them would they just connect right back to the previous wire that integrates with the LINC screen?
And this isn't necessary, but I used to have a Cobalt and I had a PA system on it that would allow me to talk through the tower and boat speakers. I would really enjoy to have that on the boat as well. Any cheap/easy suggestions?
