2021 SA 230 - JL Tower speaker cracks!!??
Just purchased a 2021 SA230 with 40 hours on her... BEAUTIFUL boat.
Boat was optioned with the tower prep kit and upgraded to the 8.8 M6 speakers. They didn't seem to be "performing" very well with very little projection other than high frequency.
I took them out of their enclosures to investigate and found cracks at the base of both?? Called JL Audio and sent them pictures. They want me to send them in for further inspection....($170 for UPS).... I'm thinking that the sound system was installed during the height of the Covid lock down so QC was almost non-existent and were possibly installed damaged thinking no one would notice? I'm only suspect of almost zero QC as the cable management underneath the observer seat was some of the worst zip tie bird nest that I've ever seen. This was incredibly disappointing to me as I have always praised the Ski Nautique/Nautique build quality as being superior to any other manufacture!!
Has anyone else experienced the 8.8 cracks?? and/or the hideous cable management issues??
