how to mount this without drilling

love my new 200 but only thing is i wish it came with a subwoofer (im an audio snob). thinking of putting this in because it wouldn't require me to cut any holes nor change the amp out or anything since it powers itself all in one. i would like to avoid drilling any holes at all and so does anyone have any ideas of the best place to put this in my 200 (im thinking probalby somewhere in the bow area or even next to the battery under the observers seat) and also the best way to secure it down without having to drill into the boat.

this is the link to what i'm looking at.

If you are not in rough water - private lake... I've been surprised at how strong the industrial velcro holds... Maybe find somewhere that it fits fairly snug where there is a smooth surface for the velcro? Just throwing ideas out..

shag i was actually thinking the very same thing. I have been looking at the 15lb velcro. i am on a public lake but it is not a very big lake. i was also thinking heavy duty double sided tape. i also don't mind cutting/modifying this speaker box if i have to. who doesn't love a good project.

You'll save a few bucks on that unit on Amazon, I would take a hard look at some of the reviews. I've used Wetsounds products in the past with good results. Not a big fan of the boxed subs, but def. better than nothing. For the $ you have in your boat & the cost of the WS Sub, for a few more bucks why not do it right? It's not a tough job, or a couple of bids from a stereo shop. I think you'll make it up on the resale down the road, and you'll be more pleased with the results, IMO.

Personally I think you have to get past the concern of drilling into the boat. A sub-woofer is intended to make a lot of vibration. Anything less that being very securely bolted down is likely to result in unsatisfactory performance IMO. You feel that kind of base as much as hear it. That's not going to happen if it's not bolted to the structure of the boat. Also, without being very securely mounted, the issue with unwanted noises from vibration is likely to be an issue.

we have a stereo shop around the corner from us here that i could definitely use. I just didn't know if anyone had any ideas. I was unsure about resale value for the boat. that's one of the reasons i was considering the in box sub because i could move it and keep the rest of the boat stock. i know the old 200's had it up front on the side of the console. not sure if i should do the same thing with this one or if there's a better place in the new 200's. I would also probably need to add a new amp. i don't mind doing all this. just wasn't sure if it would really hurt the resale value at all if it's not "100%" stock the way it came in when going to sell or even sell back to the dealer to upgrade in possibly a year or two.

I just did a complete audio overhaul on my '02 210. The sub that was in there was in a carpeted box and it moved around and pulled on the wires (a squirrels nest of wires).

Now I have it mounted in the sidewall of the walk-thru area under the observer seat. And I also have an amp just for the sub.
