Amp going into protection mode

2015 SAN 230 with subwoofer and 2 wet sounds tower speakers. The lower polk D5000.5 keeps having issues with going into protection mode. It does feel a little warmer than the other amp. Sometimes it will work fine for 20 minutes. Seems to get worse the longer the boat is in use. Thought it might be the batteries going bad, but they checked out fine. A short in the wiring or blown speaker would surprise me as it does work normally on occasion.

The 5 chnl amp may be doing more work then the other amp, so being a little warmer, would be expected. The batteries may be good, but, but it could still be a low voltage condition at the amp. I would not rule out a failing speaker either. Would be worth ohm'ing them out.
