    2015 Tower Speaker Replacement

I'm looking to replace my 2015 Focal K2 tower speakers and didn't realize they each have a crossover board in the can for the speakers.

Q: Can i simply replace with new 2-way Coaxial like Wet Sounds or Rockford without the crossover? One of the boards looks fried anyway.

    Thanks in advance!

The crossover controls frequencies sent to tweeter/driver. You need some sort if crossover for replacement speaker, unless bi-amping… using two channels from an amp and using crossover in amp to limit frequencies. or could use an external 2-way crossover and two sets of speaker wires per tower speaker housing.

A new Wet Sounds or Rockford coaxial will have its own onboard cross-over. Take the incoming wires directly to the new speakers, bypassing the old cross-over.

Thank you, both. I assumed the new speakers should have it built in but wasn't finding a clear answer.

I really like my JL's if you want to go with that factory look.

do you recall which model you put in? I've had mixed success with JL, but the good has always been great

JL does not offer a drop-in 6x9 driver for his existing pods, but rather a complete pod/mount swap. Not saying not to go this route, just that the OP needs to know this is a more expensive path v's just replacing the drivers.
