    Tower Speaker Options?

Looking for help on selecting tower speakers for a Samson tower on a '86 Ski Nautique. Most of the tower speakers that I've seen have a mounting bracket that is perpendicular to the direction of the speaker. Unfortunlately, I'm not a really big fan of the Samson tower speakers, and am looking for something better. The Samson towers have a cross bar at the top of the tower for mounting speakers that iwould be parallel to the direction of the speaker. Below is some pics that hopefully help you see what I'm talking about. What I'm looking for is for comments from users who have speakers that can be mounted on a forward/backward cross bar versus a left/right tower section. Hopefully, this makes sense. Any suggestions?

    RE: Tower Speaker Options?

For the price - I've been happy with these. http://www.audioformz.com/largerimag...g=polkwake.gif The bracket can go either way.

I second that...I bought my towers speakers from Audio Formz and I love them. The enclosures are nice looking, durable, and they sound great. I have the Polk db675's.

        Connectors?

The speaker wire connectors on all of the AudioForms tower speaker cans look to be right behind the bracket. If these were to be turned 90 degrees, I think that they would get into the way of the cross bar, unless you aimed them up. Can you verify this? Otherwise, I can inquire directly with them as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Option 1: Electrovoice Evids with Raul's or Monster Tower clamps (either will rotate)
Option 2: Monster Tower double barrels
Option 3: Audioformz 6x9 (not sure about the clamps but the speakers are good)

            These are all good options

I'm saying that the pictures of the AudioForms show that the audio connectors are located right behind the bracket. Since most people will install these with the default bracket that connects to a tower bar that runs perpendicular to the speaker. The cross bars on my tower are the best place to install speakers, so the brackets need to be turned 90 degrees since the cross bars are run in-line or parallel to the speaker. Doing this with the Audio forms would make the audio connectors conflict with the tower bar. They look like they would be in the way, even if the bracket does turn to whatever direction you want to install. Does this make sense?

I don't think they woulf be in the way - but I bet you could order them with the audio connectors not installed. Or ask if they would install connectors in a different spot? They were very helpful when I placed my order.

I have the audioformz 6x9's too and think they're great for in boat listening. But don't dismiss Mikeski's other suggetions, he knows what he's talking about.
