2006 Nautique 226 LE Auxiliary Input Sources

I plan to purchase an extremely well-cared for 2006 Nautique 226 LE with the factory-installed Clarion stereo. I would like to be able to play music from an SD card or USB stick.

Is there a device that would allow me to plug into the auxiliary input ports located in the glovebox?

Ideally there would be the ability to view and select individual titles using the remote display, but I will settle for just the ability to play music from the SD card. or USB stick.

Thanks for any guidance and/or insight.

I have not seen something like that but they sell cheap bluetooth modules that plug into the aux cable. I put that in our old 226.

+1 for using the Aux port. I run a bluetooth dongle and just stream from the phone. Mounts under the doghouse and vampires off the radio power. Works great.

      One of these: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_136911...io-MBT-RX.html

Thanks! I'll pick up a bluetooth receiver.

I'll third the Bluetooth adapter. I have this one in my boat: https://nvx.com/products/vubt2-unive...s-marine-boats

you could use a blue tooth dongle for sure. you could also upgrade the source unit to a clairon m608, it has four zones and bluetooth and a lot more. direct swap for most boats. minor wiring change for boats that are not a direct swap.

Thank you very much for this - a good thing to know about.

I particularly like the USB input and WMA file read capability.

Is it possible to use the 226's in-dash remote control with this system?

I agreed to purchase the boat today. Waiting on a 6000 lb lift to show up, so it will be on the trailer at the dealership for a brief period.

I'll likely use a bluetooth device on the aux inputs while I learn about the boat.

But this system shows great promise for the type functionality I want.

                Just found this on Crutchfield:
                • works with a variety of optional Clarion wired remotes
                Now THAT is interesting.

Do you have that much content on USB thumb drives? For us, it's as simple as Bluetooth pairing a phone to the boat and streaming music through Spotify or SiriusXM.

                    I do.

I use 256 GB thumb drives that hold quite a bit of music, even in large lossless file formats.

Last I checked there were 20,000 plus individual titles in the library, all converted from a CD into FLAC lossless and also 320K WMA format for players that can't handle higher density.

I can listen to Classic Vinyl on Sirius, but I find the commercials bothersome and mute the volume until they have passed.

A lot of what I enjoy doesn't get air time from Sirius nor Spotify. And I like having the ability to skip a title, or play a specific title.

Well then, that totally makes sense for you. Thanks for the explanation.
