    Clarion XMD3 issue

For some reason, my OG 2004 model year Clarion XMD3 head unit suddenly lost the rear channels. Has worked great for years. Swapped the amp outputs (running RCA outs to a 4 channel amp) and the problem follows the head unit outs so 99% sure it's the Clarion.

Anyone have any suggestions anything I might do to restore the channel? I looked for external channel level fusing and didn't see any. My planned workaround at the moment is a use a 1 into 2 RCA splitter cable to drive my four channel amp. I will loose my fader but it's a better solution than having to replace the entire head unit.

I'd prefer to not have to replace the head unit with a new model one as 1 / I like the dash control and 2 / I have the legacy oval dash control panel which won't work with any of the new circular dash remotes.

Or...if you're sitting on an old working head unit, I could be a buyer.

No idea how to fix it but I was able to find used XMD3s on eBay and marketplace pretty often when they needed repair.

Right. They are definitely for sale. Prefer to fix what I got vs buying something unknown. But that may be the plan....

Seen this too late. I have one sitting in my garage as I swapped out for a Bluetooth unit a few years ago. I will let you have it just pay shipping if this one doesn't work. Only reason I kept it laying around is for someone looking for a stock head unit. Mine was in a 04 196.

Hi Zigs...thanks - really appreciate that offer! This one should be here in about a week and then we'll know. I'll post a report here.

zigs Thanks again for the offer but the replacement unit fixes the problem. Maybe you can save someone else and earn some internet karma.
