New head unit to replace Clarion XMD1

It’s finally time for the old XMD1 head unit to be replaced in my 2002 SANTE. The rest of the system is in pretty good shape (speakers, sub, tower speakers and tower amp) but we need bluetooth connectivity as the Timberlake CD is getting really old!! Does anyone have any recommendations that don’t involve major surgery?

There is nothing thats not going to involve some rewiring and even likely some fabrication. If you have any wired remotes, they will not be compatible with anything new.

The Fusion RA760 is likely the closest to fit the existing hole. They may even offer a filler plate.

I have a fairly new Sony Marine head unit and two wired remotes for sale, but no Bluetooth on the head unit.

I looked into this. Kept my headunit and added a bluetooth dongle to the AUX port via RCA cables. I never found a good solution to replace the oval dash remote - all the new in dash remotes are round.

Lots of options; this is the one I used: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_136911...io-MBT-RX.html
2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)
1997 Masters Edition Nautique - Zephyr Green - gone (amazing ski wake)
1982 Mastercraft Powerslot - gone (a primitive but wonderful beast)

I put in a Clarion m608 was plug and play with an adapter cable for the remote, and fit in the opening. The volume works on the wired remote and I use my phone for changing songs.

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately the XMD1 does not have AUX connections. For the last few years, we’ve used a bluetooth adaptor connected directly to the tower speaker amp. Works ok but no volume control and its only the tower speakers. I’ve been looking for something that will fill the gap as the older models have such a large opening and no remotes.
