Got one of these transom plug lights / not bad for $20

I've wanted an underwater bling light for the rare times we night swim. But...I'm um...frugal and didn't want to pay the $50 or $60 for the chineseum transom plug lights sold on Amazon.

Found this Tennessee based small business vendor who is selling what appears to be home-made transom lights for $20 and decided to risk it. Last night had the first chance to try it out and for $20 - have to give it two thumbs up! Light is decently bright extending a nice lit circle beyond the swim step. I got the blue version.

Now I have no idea how long it will last but it's appears thoughtfully made. The transom LEDs are embedded in a clear epoxy in a brass plug and there is some sort of small electronic LED driver on the inboard wiring that's also epoxy encased. (Looks like the maker uses an ice cube tray to encase the controller...had to laugh). The included power cord is long enough that you can fish it up to a dry area before you splice into the the boat's power system.

I'm still trying to figure the the final 12v connection point - for now I jury-rigged a plugin to my aft 12v raft inflater port. For the permanent setup, I think I'm going to splice it it to my courtesy light circuit which is nearby.

Sadly....no pictures. No affiliation. Just happy with the price point, assembly and brightness.

    Here's the link if interested.

Sweet. Unfortunately, I don't have a plug on my transom.
