I pod connection for older decks?

I can't find the thread that showed how to connect an ipod to an older deck. Can anyone help me with it's location?

Yup, I have an Itrip. $50 at Best Buy. It's very small, and attatches to the Ipod. Set it to an FM frequency where there is no station, and tune in the radio to match. Works like a charm and is portable!

I have said it before, check out the Harmon Kardon Drive+Play

the coolest device out there, direct cables to the antenna wire so it totally overides even a used frequency.

            http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2IXPqfX...amp;I=108DP1US

and they are $100 cheaper than when I got mine.

Sound quality (from best to worst):

                1. Direct audio connection via Aux-input
                2. Tape adapter
                3. Wired FM modulator
                4. Wireless FM modulator

If you want good sound quality you will want to stick with the Aux-in. I am in the midst of replacing my wired FM modulator in my truck with a new deck that has Aux-in capabilities. I just cant stand the FM drift from the modulator any longer. I am not sure but I think wakeslayers unit is wired to an aux input?

Here are the pictures of how I installed my Drive+Play. I sincerely aoplogize for taking so long as I have been asked a number of times to do this. Boat is put away, busy , etc.......
When I bought the boat it had the original CC Cruise installed, and it had the control mounted where the control for the device is now located. I had a pretty large unsightly hole that needed to be covered up, so that is the reasoning for it being where it is. I probably would have moved it forward a bit. The unit comes with adhesive pads and little plates that you set screw the device to. You can pretty much put them anywhere. I ran the display cable under the dashpod. The other picture is the brain unit. Pretty simple stuff. This thing is awesome. You can also run other audio devices through it, but do not get to control them with it. The Ipod is cable to a comm cable that also charges it while it is hooked up. I just put this in the pouch and forget about it. One note about where it is on my boat is that if people are splashing about, or diving off the tower it can get wet. I just put a baggy and a rubber band over it. You can control it fine.
The unit is now $100 with the FM hard wire cable. I paid $230 last year........ Lastly, the customer service department at HK is awesome too, if you need any help.

                        Mikeski,

It is wired into the antenna plug on the deck. I have no AUX IN on my deck (Alpine 7949) I can even override a powerful local FM station, though I don't leave it on a station It completely cuts the FM signals out.
