    heater installation help

I tried doing a search on here and on wakeworld, but couldn't get the info I needed.

Could someone let me know if I installed the outlet port in the correct spot? And did I use the T-bar correctly with the sensor?

Lastly, I am going to be installing the Y adapter, but was unsure as to which tube is the raw water intake. Can it be seen in any of the photos? If I didn't provide enough photos I apologize, but just wanted some info.

For the raw water intake hose to install the y adapter into, would I jsut have to follow the hose that comes off of the thru hull for the water intake and just splice directly into that?

I hope the question's not too basic, but I just wanted to make sure I'm doing it right before I fire it up.

Search for the write-up I did awhile ago and there are a couple pics in my album (link in my sig). I used the intake like you did and the side of the block for the other.

Cool, I had your post bookmarked from awhile back (and the one that Phat in Cincy did) that I have been looking at the whole time.

I am 99.99% positive that I'm installing it correctly, I just wanted to double check on the install of the "y-adaptor" - I would install it like you have, but since I spent the moola on the adapter I figure I might as well use it.

But all I need to do, I assume, is cut the tube that comes directly off of the thru-hull scoop that brings in fresh water, install the Y-adaptor there, and I'm set...correct?

One last thing too, it doesn't matter which port you plug the hose's into the heater unit does it? I assume it's just a circle so as long as the is an inlet and an oulet for the water to flow the heater will function properly.

      Thanks for the help!

I'm not understanding the "y" thing. I only have two lines hooked up. The one off of the manifold and the one coming out the side of the block. Both of those lines just go to the heater. I don't think it matters which line you put where on the heater. It's just hot water flowing through it.

I don't think you want to tie into the water coming in from the lake.......it's cold!

Yeah, the Y fitting is supposed to help increase heat at idle - don't ask why, the explaination has to do with Bernoulli's Principle which honestly doesn't make any sense...

But anyway, here is a link to the diagram I dug up which answered my own question, hopefully it will help some other people:
            Link to Y-adapter setup

Here's a photos of how it should go:

I'd link to wakeside where you can buy it, but their site is crapped out at the moment.

Hmm. Ok. I know mine works at idle. Post pics when it's done.

I'll for sure post up some pics when it's in, but the y-adapter is the return line for the water - so that cold water goes straight into the engine not the heatercore.
