No, mine is staying with the boat, but if I remember correctly, someone in the thread I linked to above was offering to build and sell the setup. You might go through that thread and see if that person would be willing to build one for you. It really does work very well, and is much less expensive than replacing the head unit.

You can score a brand new XMD-3 off ebay for under $100. I made the switch and it's a no-brainer to install. Just leave the old wiring harnesses and plug them into the XMD-3. VOILA! You have a deck your ipod will connect to.

Will my remote plug into the XMD-3 or do I need to change that as well?

Do you have a remote w/ a display? If so, you will lose the display. Your buttons will work (with the exception of the mute in AM/FM mode) so if you have a non-display you would be fine.
