Wireless lighted cup holders from whitelake.com

Anyone have any experience with these?

I'm not too keen on all the wiring involved with the "standard" lighted cup holders.

I don't have any but I have seen those on one of White Lake's boats at the Raleigh NC boat show. They looked really good and David told me that the battery draw was really low so the batteries should last a long time.

I think they wouldn't be that convenient. You'd have to go to each cup holder and turn it on whereas if you do a wired installation it would be one switch at the dash.

I see wakejunky's point on this. I've done a search on this and see a lot of great ideas on this subject. But, I'd still like to get some further opinions on this.

        1. What's the standard cup holder dimensions on >05 Nautique (SAN)? 3" / 3 5/8"?
        2. Lighted rims or lights in the bottom of the cup holders? What's the easiest? Most appealing? Maintanance free?
        3. Stainless steel preferrable? Wakeside has some available with drain holes in the bottom, will these make such a project "easier"?
        4. Preferred LED intensity?
        5. Any further instructions available on wiring this up?

How about these, just tap off your interior lights, all 10 of mine only draw 1.5 amps.

Mikeski..I'm assuming these were created using the led flexible strips. Are you enclosing them with a plastic ring? How are you running the wire to them?

They are tape LEDs that I get from China, have not seen this stuff anywhere on e-bay or online. The surrounding plastic ring was machined.

Mikeski...whew...I've looked everywhere for such detailed pics. Man..I really appreciate it.

Since I've got your ear. When buying leds..do I need to be overly concerned with their intensity (MCD value)?

I typically just go for the superflux versions.

I think these two products are pretty similiar to what Mikeski is using. He'd have to chime in to verify though.

                        http://www.plasmaled.com/LED_strip_lights_lighting.htm

                        http://www.oznium.com/led-ribbon

The thing I'm having a tough time finding a solution for (based off his examples) is the plastic ring over the led strips.

I'm considering clear tubing (PVC) cut to a comparible with of the led strip.

                          The Oznium stuff should work.

The plasmaLED stuff looks similar to the strip above my platform.
