I have a couple of questions about the source unit that shipped in 2006 and later Nautiques.
[Correction - CMD4A is now superceded by CMD5]
1. How is the integration of the CMD5 and the EA1276B ipod control interface? Is it worth while or should i just stick with the AUX line in and control the ipod separately? I currently use the Griffin remote for the ipod mini so i dont have to reach in the glove box to change tracks/volume/mute/on/off, or have the ipod laying around in the boat.
2. I have a 2005 SV211 which comes with the prior unit that looks similar to the CMD5, but not sure of model. Is it a direct plug in to switch to the CMD5? I have one remote control unit on the dash, so i wasnt sure if the new model worked with the old remote or if i would have to get a new remote as well.
3. What is the most cost effective way of running video in the boat? One obvious way is to get a mobile audio DVD player (~$200) and a mobile audio LCD(~$200-$1000) and run the DVD audio out to the CMD4 audio in, and the DVD video out to the LCD. I have seen the LCDs mounted on the back side of the glove box door. This is very low priority for me, but figured i would ask just to see how it is done.
Thanks!

It’s Simple: Operate an iPod as if It were a CD Changer.
Clarion components with CeNET connectivity can control and recharge an iPod, and you can operate the iPod as if it were a CD changer. Play all tracks in order… or select from five different playlists. And the CeNET component will display info such as artist name, song title, and album title… just like an iPod!
