    Panel-mount RCA jacks

Last year I upgraded the stereo in my '01 Air Nautique from the Clarion XMD-1 to the XMD-3. I've been running my iPod with an RCA to mini-stereo cable that runs from the back of the unit and just kind of 'hangs out' next to the driver's seat. I'm considering mounting RCA jacks somewhere on the dash pod or the like and I'm curious what other folks are doing to make the iPod connection a bit cleaner and more convenient.

    Thanks,
    Steve

My boat came with them mounted in the glove box.

Steve, I did mine in my 211 last year. Do a search listed as " installed RCA inputs-what do you think". Hope it helps.

        RE: Panel-mount RCA jacks

Thanks Deester--I had actually seen the " installed RCA inputs-what do you think" thread and used that as my inspiration (so I thank YOU and the other contributors to that thread) and guide---went to Home Depot got the panel-mount RCA's, fabricated a plastic backing, etc. Now I'm just trying to figure out the best place to mount the darn thing.

As G-Man noted, his panel-mounts are located in the glove box (as it appears most people's are). I just don't think that's the most convenient location for me.

On my '01 Air the radio is located just to the right of the driver's seat, not in the glove box. I also took note of the fact that Mikeski wrote the following:
"After last summer I decided that they were just too inconvenient in the glove box so I moved the inputs to the driver's side..."

I tend to agreee with Mikesi and was thinking along the same lines as him.....A mounting location on the dash pod or something like that might be more convenient. That way, the driver, passenger, someone in the jump seat and even folks up front would be able to easily control the iPod.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.....Thanks folks!
