XMD1 remote and 196 Limited

I have read tons of threads on the XMD1 vs XMD3 vs CMD4 vs others. I dont really care what I switch to, but has anyone come up with a good solution to the spot where the wired remote with display for the XMD1? I know there is someone that makes a plate, but all that I saw had a hole for the ignition. My 2003 196 Limited has the keyless ignition.

I'm looking to add a sub, amp, ipod, etc.
