    XMD3 and speakers

anyone know if the h/u is wired to the speakers parallell or series (for the setup with bow speakers - 6 spkrs total)? Any suggestions for how to add and wire an amp to this setup?

Factory default is front cockpit and bow wired in parallell and powered by the amp, the rear speakers run off the head. Sorry but I don't have any ideas on additional amps and configurations

It's rather quite easy. Get another amp, follow the power wire from the other amp to the new one, same with ground. Since the fronts are already amped, pull your rear speaker wire off the deck, and onto the amp. You'll also need a remote wire that turns the amp on when the deck comes on. Just tap into the one from the existing amp, and connect it on over to the new one. Then you'll need to get RCA cables (probably 2 channel, amp only needs to be 2 channel for 2 rear speakers anyways). This will have everything amped. If you have any specific questions, PM me.

        Frost,

I have the level 1 unit, just the hu w/o an amp (though I plan to add one), so are the front spkrs and the bow still run together in parllel and the rear separate?

yes they are but your best bet is to run the cockpit speakers off of and amp

Yeah, you can find the cockpit speakers and bow speaker wires where the head unit is, from there just re-wire the speakers to the way you would like them.

The bow speakers are orange wires for the port and blue for stbd.
