Tower speaker install

I'll be installing new tower speakers on my 06 211. I have everything, just need a couple answers to make things easier.

1. Went with several suggestions to power the new AMP to the battery and not jump it from the existing AMP.
Q - Should I/Can I go to the Perko switch, directly to the battery, or to the circuit that powers the existing AMP?

2. I will be using the Samson Sports speakers and mounts that have the RCA plug built into the tower mount. I'll be hanging them on the rear bar of the tower. Problem is the tower pivot is on the front bar/leg.
Q - How do I get the speaker wire to the back bar? Are the flat bars between the front and back bars hollow and do they have a cut-outs in them to let the wire pass through?

Thinking I may have to mount them on the front bar, but I dont want to do that.

I pulled the wire thru the front bar and hung the speakers on the back. Since my speakers (and prob. yours to) recess toward the front bar the wire drops right down to the speaker and makes it a pretty clean install. To pull thru the flat you would have to drill and plug those too, way more labor than necc. in my opinion. I think redelf asked this same question about a year ago.

To clarify. The tower mount has a rca jack in it that lets the wire go from inside the tube, through the mount and plugs into the speaker can through the jack. Very nice and no wires exposed or to connect and disconnect when I remove the cans for storage.

Power for the new amp should come directly from the battery - both the 12v hot and the negative connected to their respective terminals - The wire for the amp should be sized at minimum according to the amp specs. Good luck pulling the wire - most likely you will need to drill and plug some extra "pull holes".
