    Amping up a stock system

Basic questions for the experts here... I have the stock system in my 05 196 (XMD2? I forgot to look last night) and I just want to add an amp to give the speakers the power they want. Any recommended amps? Power ratings? The Polk/MOMO owner's manual suggests 50-100amps per channel. I'm sure someone out there has some additional insight and recommendations.

    Thanks!!

Not sure how many channels you plan to use but the Alpine MRP-F250 is a 4 channle amp at 40watts/channel at 4ohms and 50watts at 2 ohms. I'm using one to drive 4 DB650's and it sounds awsome. I did a lot of research and decied to go with this one. It runs real cool and never clips out. Power draw is no problem either.

The Clarion APX-480M does well powering the stock speakers, available from e-bay for $150 all day long.

Thanks Mike. I have one sitting at home courtesy of Ebay already - seemed like a good match so I went for it. Hope to have it installed by this weekend.

Make sure you activate the highpass crossover at 100hz if you are using a sub.
