I don't remember what I paid, but I'm sure that it wasn't near $500 and actually don't know if it is a factory thing. I'll give them a shout tomorrow and also try to get a better picture for you all. I had seen them in a boat while I was at the dealership and had to have them as well. I would love to see the red/white/blue board in them.

This is the best photo of the carpets I had - I hope it helps - If you guys would like a better one let me know, next time I'm at the shop I'll take a few. The carpets for DD boats go around the motor box.
P.S. (and yes the boat is really dirty right now)

Whitechocolate- thanks and thanks again for your help. Here's two of the three amps I put in, I don't have photos of the others yet. It might not be in your league (maybe someday though) - but it sounds pretty good. I too cannot understand why CC doesn't pay more attention to the little details. The Kicker system that came with my boat just wasn't enough. I understand keeping costs down and all but, c'mon now!

Gotwake, Do you find that the carpet walks all over? We had this happen to us on several boats. We think it needs to be fastened down, but never did anything yet. Ideas?

They catch a little air from the bow (no windstop) but really don't move. I am going to put a few snaps in to the carpet and the floor (perhaps in the corners) and get rid of the velcro that keeps the two pieces joined, I'm thinkin that'll do the trick. The rubber backing, which is knobby like a floormat keeps mine from sliding.

Thanks - I like JL and haven't ever had a problem with their amps or subs

Gotwake: That looks awesome, great idea! 2 questions for ya...

                  1. Where did you get that white plastic lid for the enclosure?

                  2. How does the seat attach to the enclosure?

I have an '02 SANTE and the seat on mine is held down by two "nubs" that sit down inside of two holes on the box, the newer SANTE's have a hinged seat to replace these nubs. Looking closely at your picture, I don't see either - how do you keep the seat from moving/sliding around?

RE: Re: The Super Air "Box"

Wow - I haven't looked at pictures of my old boat in awhile - Kinda brings a tear to my eye!

The lid I got from a local marine store, but I about bought one from West Marine, so I would try there.
To hold the seat cushion down I screwed nylon webbing to the bottom and put a couple of snaps in them. Ran one one each end and screwed the "snap base" into the side of the box. Worked just fine! THe nubs I simply removed.
I just made another box for my new boat to hold two PPI 4125 amps, and used the hinge this time. The trick in making these boxes is to insure that you account for the carpet thickness. Double check that the passenger flip seat sits correctly on the floor -

Sounds good, thanks for the info.

Post some pics of the new box w/PPI amps when you get a chance, I'm sure based upon your previous work it will look great. ****, now that I've seen the 220 pictures I'm thinking... why put more $$/time into my boat.. LOL
