stock Carion head unit: ER 6 ??

What is this an error code for? I tried cleaning the deck with a CD lense cleaner, and it still gave me the 'ER 6' code.

I don't have the manual, so any ideas?

just found out that newer units have this as error 6:
A CD inside the CD changer cannot be played because it is loaded upside-down.

I got this code when no CDs were in the changer, and i was tyring to play a single CD in the deck itself.

basically it means its shot. mine was doing the same thing, sometimes it played and sometimes it didnt. i replaced it with a new kenwood.

****. everything else works, expect the internal disc. I guess that I'll just keep using it until it ****s the bed, then upgrage.

Is there an adapter out there to go from the clarion size deck to a single DIN, and still mount it in the glove box?

i bought the kenwood MDR300 i believe. on crutchfields website under marine. fits perfectly with the shape of the old clarion, just had to redrill the holes for the mounting screws. cruthfield sells them thru their outlet store (returned items) and factory refurbished occasionally. if so, you can get them for typically 20-35% cheaper than "brand new"
