    Adding Tower Speakers

I am looking to add tower speakers and would like to know what the best ones would be. My main objective is to be able to hear them while boarding and I would like to do it with just two cans.

Give me some ideas on what works the best.

    Thanks,
    FatBoy

I'm sure eveybody already knows, but I think the new NVert JBL speakers would be the best to suit your need. I'm convinced that the horn/woofer system is the best for outdoor use. It is the same methods used at outdoor concerts. These seem more logical than having 8 car speaker, which are designed for small, enclosed spaces.

I would just worry about NVert's relaiblity, in that they just got a new owner and some people think they may go out of business, but I think its all good...

Do you know the part number for the speaker itself? I may buy my own cans and install speakers.

Sorry, I don't think I can help you there... try calling Nvert. I wouldn't email them, they seem to be a lot slower on the computer.

I added the Boss B-530 speakers to my tower this Spring and have been pleased with the results. I like the Nverts, but cost and availability killed that route for me. The B-530s use MB Quart drivers, sound really good to me.

Can you hear them while boarding, and what size amp are you running on them?

I have not actually heard them in person, but have heard very good things about the Monster Tower Evid 6.2 ProAudio Speakers. They are very reasonably prices @ $595/pr with free shipping. That and a good amp pushing 150 watts RMS x 2 at 4oms and you are out the door around a grand. Not bad at all.

              monstertower.com/accessory2.html

That is the link to the speakers above. Worth a look. Again, this is word of mouth and I have not actually heard the speakers....

No problem hearing them on the board (or in my case the foil). I'm pushing them with two channels of a RF 600.5 amp. Goal for this winter was to give them a 500-600w dedicated amp (they'll take it), but I'm waffling on that now. Where are you in Eastern NC? I'm North of Raleigh, we should get together and let you decide for yourself. Harris Lake? Falls Lake?
