211 TE momo speakers not loud

my front two speakers on 211 TE have very little sound coming out of them, if I put my ear next to them I can hear some sound, are they blown?

    I checked fader/balance on radio.

    thanks.

Gain on the amp is probably set way too high. The amp in mine was poorly adjusted from the factory (kinda backwards from yours, way too loud in front).

From the factory, they bow speakers are driven by the Clarion head unit, not the amp. THe head unit can't compete with the power of the amp. Ask Andrew or Mikeski for a fix.

Rangertrace is correct , bow speakers are driven by the head unit, they should be on the front channel and the Amp pushing the sub and (4) rear cabin speakers should be on the rear channel, the fade control on your deck should allow control between F - R, if not check that your amp is connected to the Rear RCA input, mine came from the factory with the I-Pod inputs actually connected to the front channel input.

thank you for the input, boat is several hours away, will look at and report back in a few. I am assuming that the smaller amp pushes the Tower speakers, correct?

the i pod works fine, so I suspect that the inputs are ok.

one more thought, could I/should I add another amp for the bow speakers?

forgot to mention I also have the stock sub, not sure which amp it's hooked up to.

If it is a factory setup I believe the smaller amp pushes the tower speakers and the larger amp pushes the sub and 4 cabin speakers. I would think another amp just for the sub then connect the bow speakers to the larger amp may be a better solution if possible.

thank quinner, yes it's a factory setup and what you said makes sense to me. So if I wanted to add an amp just for the sub does that then mean that each amp (i.e., 3 amps total) would have 2 lines from the head unit to the amp? I'm somewhat of an amateur here when it comes to the stereo.

your stereo head unit has a front, rear and non fade pre amp output - the non fade is not used during factory install - you most likely have a clarion 480 4 channel running 4 speakers and the sub on two bridged channels - tower on a smaller clarion 280 2 channel - you can add an additional amp (mono) for the sub on the non fade unused preamps - and move the bow to the newly unused channels on the 4 channel - you will need to run 12volt power and negative for the new sub amp

can I use another clarion 280 or would you recommend something different?

If you are still referencin the amp for a sub you should match the amp rms wattage to the spec rms of the sub - I have a kicker solobaric 12" sub that has rms of 750 watts - I am running a kicker 750.1 mono to drive the sub at two ohms.

if yo have a single voice coil ten inch sub (polk) i believe it is 300watts rms at 4 ohms - the clarion 280 is 230 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode) so it would be a close match - I generally look to get the numbers as close as possible

yes, my question was the amp for the sub, I do have the 10" polk momo sub and enclosure (i.e., stock for TE), so I believe your numbers are correct, thanks for the input, I may give it a try.
