Multiple Batteries to a junction box

OK, lets say you have two batteries you intend to use for stereo, then maybe in the future three. Is this a good idea: I would like to take the thickest wire needed and connect two batteries together and then run one line from the positive and negative to a junction box of sorts. Then I can run my three amps from that junction box without always going back to tap into the battery. I could do this for the negative as well. Does anyone see a reasons why not to do this? I am just trying to keep a clean install as I can and not have six pairs of wires running up the gunnel.

i don't see any problems with that. will save u alot of $$$ on wire and will definetly keep the install clean. i'd go ahead and run some 1/0g from the batts to the box, that way u'll never have to worry about undersized wire when u make additions in the future..........

      Yep, as Andrew suggests...

1/0 between batteries and to distribution block near amps, #4 from dist block to amps. I prefer the Streetwires distribution block with screw down fuses that has terminals for four positive and four negative connections. I also like to use the pre-tinned marine power wire sold here: http://stores.ebay.com/Genuinedealz_...Q3amesstQQtZkm
