the stock clarion speakers are 6.5 inches so any good quality speakers will work.

Actually, the cutout for many of the 6 1/2" speakers is only 5 1/4" - 5 1/2". The cutout and depth required are critical in looking at upgrades. The Infinity 62M set has worked pretty well for my in my Sport Nautique. If the amp power is clean and the low end is passed off through a subwoofer, they can really produce some nice sound. Good Luck.

The 4 stock speakers in my '99 SAN are shot as well. I was looking at these for a cheap replacement -

If that would be a horrible choice, let me know. I basically just want my tunes back without breaking the bank. I also don't have an amp, they will be running off of the deck just like the clarions are now.

            Any feedback is appreciated-

I also just read that we will have to take off the side panels to get to them...anyone ever done this?

Yes, you have to remove the side panels to get to the speakers but it's really trivial to take them off. They're just held on by a number of bolts that are super easy to get to. I've had mine on/off five or six times over the past couple months while changing out speakers and monkeying with my amps.

The hard speaker to work with is the one at the driver's feet. It's a little different than the other three and you have to get at it from the back. Really really awkward to get that sucker back in!
