This amp should work ok for pushing two sets of NVS Entity's or Wetsounds 485's right?
it will run both sets but i think 1 amp per set would bring these speakers to their full performance. they are rated 400-500w. nvs 300-600wetsounds.you could use one i think 2 would be better. good luck and let us know what you go with and how it sounds. dang did you see nvs has a set of interior speakers for $750 thats crazy!!!!!!!!!
Since you can get them off of ebay for 300-450 paying full retail is NUTS.

So say I get a Kicker 850 to run both, then I have the original Clarion 480 and the smaller amp for the interior speakers and the sub. Would the orignal batteries be enough or should I get a third? We like to hang out in the cove after our morning session and want to make sure I have a fresh battery to start it up after acouple hours.
Well I plan on running a kicker sx900.4 bridged to the pro 485's and another 900.4 on the boat speakers ( rear at a 2ohm stereo and the bow at a 4 ohm load. I think that the 850.4/900.4 are basically the same except mine has the computers in them. 450 rms per speakers on the tower should do just fine.
I think I'm going to run 2 golf cart 6v batteries on the system and a optima blue top for starting the boat. My last system had 3 blue tops and when I was playing it load would be dead after 2hr. I had them isolated so that I could always ster the boat.
if ur gonna dedicate a battery for starting, and want an optima... then go with the red top
Agreed, especially if you are only going to use it for starting. The blue top is a deep cycle battery and will be better used in situations that put a drain on the battery and need constant performance during discharging. Not to say that the blue top can't be used as a starting battery (we have two in our boat), but the red top will give you more CCAs.
i dont like running any of them at a 2ohm load. works the amps to hard they clipout alot and can damage them. i know it can be done but i dont like to do it. seen way to many kicker amps get fried from this. keep them at 4ohm amp will be happier for sure.
I have always run my kicker amps at 2ohm. I have not had any problems with them in the last 4 boats. I guess its all in how you have it set up. LOL I think I'm going to run 4 L710's off of 2- 1500.1's
I have always run blue tops as my starter battery, but I might try the red tops. I keep a charger in the boat so at night I just plug it in so they stay toped off.
Can't wait to get the 230 in so I can start on it. Have all the equipment except the wetsounds eq and the sub amps. I'm also thinking about doing a balmer alternator setup like other have done.
