    Isolating The Tower Speakers

I want to install a set of NVS Tyrants on our 216. (My first install)

I would like to be able to seperately control the speaker volume with a rotary style fader/volume control. Preferably only the knob would be visible.

Does anyone know what product I need & where to find it.

Also any tips on wiring would be great.

    Thanks!

    Pat

Go for the wetsounds instead, in white they will look great and sound great on your boat. Use the new WS-420 EQ to control the stereo and tower volume seperately. Call or e-mail Tim the owner: twhite@wetsounds.com

If you go with the NVS you can use any EQ to fade between the amps. Call Duane or Todd, they can help you.

Or you could use the old standby line level control PAC LC1 or equivalent:

I would likt to add this to the stock 2006 TE system. Is there any sound quality degradation with this line level?

We've got the Wetsounds too and are stoked with them.

In our last few systems we have gone the easy option to control the tower speakers and just used the fader on the head unit. We run one amp for the speakers in the boat (connected to the front RCA out) and one amp for the tower speakers (connected to rear RCA). Sub amp runs off the non fading RCA out.

That way you can easily fade top to bottom. You dont use it all the time but it is handy when wakesurfing etc.

            Went with 2 PAC-LC1 controls.

One for the boat speakers & another for the tower.

It looks like this application will work perfectly for what I had in mind.

Thanks for all of the assistance!

jbwake, your boat is amazing! I love the color, tower speaks, basically the whole setup is diesel!

wetfoot, if you wanted more customization/tweeking ability of the sound system you might want to look at a pre-amp/parametric EQ. That will allow you to fade the tower speaks in and out, but also adjust gains for your entire system all in one unit (I use a PPI PAR-650, but there are quite a few out there). Just another option to consider down the road if you aren't happy with the PAC LC1 controls.
