mounting location for a stereo amp for a 2003 210 air

Hello all.

I just bought a 2003 Air and want to put a stereo amp in it. Is the best place to put it under the dash on the front passenger seat......seems that is where I see most of them? If so what side does the plywood go on the left or right? If you put the plywood on the left side I guess you must remove the carpet and glue it on the side of the boat?

What size of plywood should I use for mounting the amp and what thickness should the plywood be?

Any help would be appreciated.
