Phoenix Trailer Scraping on G25 Hull

I have an new (June 26, 2015) Phoenix trailer and I always seem to get scratches on my hull every time I use my trailer. There is some minor scaring on the bunks but nothing major. Is it a case of just getting the bunks re-carpeted, it never seems to fit right, always a struggle to get the boat on the trailer.

I've attached some images. Any advice on what I should do, any trailer tips would be appreciated. I find the G25 pretty hard to settle on the trailer.

Looks like you might need to get your trailer a little deeper in the water. The G25 is heavy, but you should still be able to float it on. I assume you are power loading? How are you aligned as you approach the trailer? I'd definitely re-carpet.

Colored hulls and power loading are never a good combo, as mentioned float it on instead. Just remove and rotate the bunks 180 degrees and re-install if carpet is not torn up too bad.

+1 on what the others said power loading in not your friend . Looks like the bunks don't match the contour of the hull can you shim under the bunk to more closely match the hull?

I have a red hull and I have some minor scuffs like that. My trailer is an Eagle trailer and the way it fits the hull is good...maybe a little too good. I ended up re-carpeting my bunks with a higher quality of carpet that is softer and thicker than the original carpet. I actually got it from Eagle; they upgraded. I bought a roll of 40 feet so I had enough. Also, I have always done this with all of my inboard trailers...I take a circular saw and cut a small bevel on the inside edge of each bunk. I have seen all of my carpet fray at the inner edge over time, so I 'softened' the inner edge to hopefully help. My current re-carpet job is 4 years old and it is holding up very well from minimal power loading.

I feel like the Eagle trailer bunks sit higher than other inboard trailers. You can barely see the front of the trailer when I launch...

I sink the trailer and float ours on. I also have had several colored hulls and learned the hard way it's much easier to simply float it on . If you have two people it's very fast
