    Ramlin Trailer Lights

Having issues with my right turn signal and brake lights. All running lights work well but notice my red side maker light does not work on the right side and now my right side tail light works but the turn signal and brake light do not work. I put a new tail light on did the same and then I changed the ground wire thinking a bad ground but same issues. Then I took the ground wire off at the front of the trailer and cleaned it up and same issue. Any thoughts would be great. Would that marker light issue be causing my issue with the tail light on the same side?

I assume this is on a 4 flat light connection to your vehicle? If I'm not mistaken, there are 3 powers and a ground on that connection (running lights, left stop/turn, right stop/turn, ground). My guess for the red marker light is that it is bad, or has a bad ground at the light itself. You did not mention if you tried replacing that one (this assumes all other running lights are working). If you replaced the tail light and still had the problem, I am guessing the problem is in the wiring, harness, or vehicle lighting. Take a volt meter to the vehicle harness. With the lights on, you should get 12 volts from one of the pins and ground. With the brakes pressed you should get 12 volts from 3 pins and ground. Start at the harness and move back to where they stop working. Volt meter is your friend.

If its a 5 flat connection (if you have brakes on trailer), same goes, just one pin will not be energized unless you put the vehicle in reverse.

Try a 9 volt battery for testing. Look up wiring color codes on the web. Also, if u have a GM vehicle, it could be the flasher module. Mine went bad and the tail and turn worked on the vehicle, but not the trailer.

I have the 5 pin so I will check at the harness and move back from there. Will let you know. Yes I did put a new ground on that tail light thinking that was the issue but had no change.
