    Class IV or V hitch

I am taking a trip from Michigan to Norris Lake this spring with the G and want to invest in a new hitch. I am thinking a Class IV with a 7.5 inch drop will do the trick. I am looking at this one.

I am considering a class V as it is just a bit more cost. Or maybe you guys like other brands? I am hearing good things about Gen-Y.

    Thoughts?

Hadn't heard of Gen Y. We use B&W around the farm and for hauling the boat. Very heavy duty and well built!

I have a few CURT hitches that I like: http://www.curtmfg.com/Category/168/...0Ball%20Mounts

You can swap over your existing ball to the new hitch or get a new one to match the hitch rating.

Doc. Did you end up picking up a gen y hitch? I have been interested in this hitch myself.

I did. I haven't towed with it yet but it seems incredibly beefy. I have a feeling it will work out well.

No I didn't. I looked at it but it was too costly and excessive for my needs.

I went with this one but I got the tri ball

I just placed an order for the 10" drop this afternoon. They talked me out of the torsion version. Said it would be over kill.

Make sure you get a hitch lock. I found a nice one on Amazon for 20 bucks

What are you guys towing with that you need 7.5" and 10" drop hitches? My G21 sits nice and level with a 0 drop hitch behind my dually.

I was thinking the exact same thing.... unless you have a 6inch lift with massive tires....
