I'm considering buying a new trailer for my 2006 Ski 206 to replace the 2003 Ramlin it's currently on. I'm looking at a Boatmate trailer. I believe that the new trailers are manufactured to fit the new Ski Nautique 200s. I am wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience fitting a newer Boatmate trailer to a mid 2000's Ski 206. If so, how's the fit? Are you satisfied with it? Would you recommend making the switch? Any words of advice? Thanks.

As Scott said, confident Boatmate can build it correctly for that exact hull. Click the link at the bottom of my post and you will see my 206 which sits on an Eagle as another reference. Have had 2 Eagles and both preformed well. Went dual axle on mine, single is adequate but the dual really makes it tow beautifully. Went disc brakes both axles so stops very well. 2 things I would do different on mine, NO BOW STOP get crash pads, stop makes loading unloading a PITA and easy to tear up your pinstripe tape and rub rail on most ramps. Crash pads only negative is when the boat is tight to them cover on/off is a problem, if removable that issue is eliminated. Stainless fenders instead of painted, people inevitably want to step on them and shoes and paint are a bad combo. If you have a paddle wheel make sure they know where it is on your hull.

Thanks For the replies and the pics. Nice rig. Really sharp boat. I was under the impression that the boat mate trailers were built for the 200 and couldn't be made specifically for my boat. I'll check into that further.

Most trailers are built on demand. I bought a new 2011 performance custom trailer for my 2006 196 as when I bought the boat used it didn't have a trailer.
Ramlin, boat mate, performance custom can all build you a trailer to order that is designed for your boats hull.

seconding above.
i had a 2017 trailer built for my 2007 236, boat mate all the way. you just are not gonna get the same bang per buck with other trailer manufactures. I gotta them to spray automotive clear coat over trailer for additional money. BEWARE: boat mate does NOT clear coat their standard trailers.

exactly. from the factory they do a clear/base mixture, which means its more difficult to correct in the future. you could polish if its got clear, you could also blend the paint if it needed to be repainted in anywhere. it also helps with rust, though with just about every trailer you will see rust with in a few months, even its the whole thing is powder coated. aluminum trailer would the only way to avoid that. all that being said, boat mate is still my preferred trailer.
