New Goodyear Endurance trailer tires?

anyone else see these https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...tnum=175NR4END? I have the original Marathons on a tandem Phoenix trailer, but I think they have dry rotted to the point of being on the verge of a "rapid, uncontrolled depressurization event" aka blowout and I would rather order and swap the tires now, not the middle of the summer.

Wow, that appears to be a new trailer tire option that is made in the USA. Goodyear's Marathons started out being made in the USA and were a good tire. Then manufacturing moved to China and problems started occurring. Ratings for marathons really took a dive, lots of reports of tires coming apart. This may become the new standard for trailer tires. I sure hope so, there have not been any good choices for years now.

Well, I order them this morning, they will be to the local dealer on Wednesday, I will report back when they arrive and I get the old marathons swapped out.

Well, the swap is done. moved the trailer in the garage, jacked it up, threw the 10 year old marathons into the bed of the truck and came home with the new Endurance tires. They look pretty nice, they are made in the USA and they are load range D. The the old Marathons were made in China and load range C and were dried out pretty bad. One less thing to worry about this summer.

I am considering the Endurance tires as well. I have Hercules Power STR's on my single axle trailer, that have served me well over the past 7 years, but its time to replace, and I like that in the same size (ST215-75R14) they are load D (instead of C) and have an N speed rating (87mph). Anyone else put the endurance tire on?

I just put them on my Fish Nautique trailer. Look good so far. We'll see how they do...

I just got my wheels back from the tire place with the endurance tires installed - very beefy tires.

I just swapped out marathons(4yr old) for new Endurance. I also upped the size from 205/75/14 to 215/75/14. I have I've 1,000 lbs additional capacity with the new tires. They seem to ride a ton better win 65psi versus 50 with the Marathons. I'm about to make a 1,300 mile trip with them next week. I will report back how they do.

Very sneaky. I'll have to remember that. I'm sure it could be tweaked and applied to many other purchases as well.

I don't blame you. If I were about to tow 1300 miles I would want assurance of new rubber too.

Trip Update: I just towed over 2600 miles. No issues with the Endurance tires. Drove from Texas to Wisconsin and Back. Tires seem to pull better than the old Marathons. The tires bounce way less than before. Most likely that can be attributed to the 65 psi versus the 50 psi. On the way back, I checked the tires and all 5 tires still had 65psi in them. On my old Marathons/ Carlisle's I always lost at least 5 psi after each leg of the trip.

For anyone that cares about MPG... I now tow it with my wife's Yukon XL Denali We got 10.6 MPG with an average speed around 70. Outside air temps were mid 90's most of the drive. All engine/trans/tire/ bearing temps stayed in check the entire time.
