Jacking up a G23 to replace a trailer tire on the road.

Since I'm waiting around for my boat to be built and have nothing better to do, I was just thinking. Has anyone ever had to jack up their G23 on the trailer to change a tire? It just occurred to me that the weight of the boat/trailer far exceeds any jack I have laying around. I realize that your not really lifting all the weight at once but has anyone had to do this and did you have any issues? I shutter to think about using the jack in my Sequoia that I already had to replace once as the base bent just lifting the back of the SUV up.

I had to change a tire once on the trailer under my 2013 G23. I just used the bottle jack that came with my Excursion. It worked fine.

Get a 4x4 or 6x6 piece of wood, cut 45 degree angles on both sides. Drive it on top of the piece of wood, we call it a poor mans jack! Should cost around $5!!!! Works every time, no sweating involved. It does double duty as a wheel chock. Thank me later!!

Or find a parking lot with concrete stops in the parking spots and pull your good tire up on that. Can also use a curb in a pinch.

As stated, with any tandem axle trailer pull out the block of wood (or trailer shops/Wallmart carry devices made for this if you are not handy) and drive the inflated tire on the affected side up on the block after first loosening the lug nuts on the flat tire. No jack needed. If I am traveling over 100 miles towing I always throw a floor jack in the back, it is good insurance that it will not be needed.

Get a Trailer Aid device.....or the mentioned 4x4 cut to do the same thing.

Built my own "ramp jack" with a couple beveled 2*6 pieces screwed together, roll on with good wheel take bad wheel off...

Appreciate all the tips and suggestions! I'll definitely be throwing some wood or that Trailer Aid product in the boat during travel.
