SAN 230 Tongue Height

I have a 2017 SAN 230 with a Boatmate Trailer. I called Boatmate and asked if there was a preferred tongue height to ensure proper tongue weight. They said 18"-21". Has anyone measured?

Ideally you would want to measure your trailer when perfectly level and measure how much your vehicle sags when boat is hooked up, add sag to the level height and round up.

I would think you would want the front to be a tad low, no? Since the major weight of the boat is in the back?

Level is what you want, if you are between drops go high since the tow vehicle likely will never sit higher rather lower if loads increase. The trailer should be designed to carry the weight correctly, 10% tongue weight max, so with a VDrive boat axles will be further back vs a direct drive where axles will usually be directly below motor.

Level, that's the trick! Any trailer needs to be level, everything works better that eay
