    2000 ski nautique trailer guides

I'm buying a 2000 SN 196 and the factory trailer does not have boat guides. It appears the actual metal rods have a threaded portion which screws into the trailer itself. Anyone know where I can get something similar?

What size are the threads? Perhaps I can get something at the Hardwear store and manufacture a post.

    Thanks!

I am having a hard time picturing this, and maybe so are others (hence the views, but no replies). do you happen to have a picture? I only ask, because my trailer guides do not have any threads at all. there is a thru-bolt that holds the upright to the trailer.

Thanks! Here is a pic of the rig. I will get a close up of what I'm talking about this weekend. It's been a while since I looked at it but I was under the impression there is a big threaded hole where the guides once were. At any rate there are no guides.

If it is a Ram lin trailer, you can call Nautique parts and they can get you a price so you can order a set.

I think Fgroce is on to it, looks like a Ramlin to me. Typical use of the frame as the bunks for the boat, the wheels and overall look of the trailer say Ramlin.

Thanks guys. I'll be taking a deeper dive into the boat his weekend. I was hoping it was a ramlin, but I'd read here that the prestige trailers were essentially knock off ramlins. although it's a pita to load this boat on our steep ramps. Guides would help, but I'm going to look into mounting a winch as well-perhaps more questions around that later...

That trailer is actually a Correct Craft trailer. Back when they made trailers and before they sold to Ramlin. Your trailer is about a 92-93 vintage. The guide on poles didn't attach like the current ones do. I think they were welded on and likely broke off.

Thanks very much for the insight! I haven't officially bought the boat but I'll be sure to check the ownership and bring it up when making the deal. It looks to be in good shape and I know the trailer hasn't had many miles on it for a number of years. Still I think it needs some TLC.

Update... I knew I wasn't imagining things. Turns out there is in fact a threaded insert for boat guides. A previous owner must have welded it in. Looks like standard 1.5" threaded pipe can screw in.

galvanized water pipe and XL swim noodles worked for me. nylon pipe covers optional.
