rotating trailer tires??

Anyone here ever done it? If so, was it worth it and what pattern did you rotate in? Just curious if it could be / should be done on our tandem axle trailers. Searched and nothing came up.

I wouldn't bother rotating trailer tires. Unless you trailer your boat 10-15k miles per year they'll go bad due to age before they go bad due to tread wear, that's my theory with motorhomes and boat trailers anyway. They don't get used enough to justify expensive tires and rotation. Besides autos only really need rotating because the front wheels tilt when turning which causes a lot of wear on the outsides and so they go to the back where the middles wear faster. No reason why you couldn't rotate trailer tires certainly wouldn't hurt but rotating tires isn't my idea of a fun boat project.

I would recommend checking the bolts periodically. Drove from Indianapolis to Louisville and rechecked the bolts when I got home. One of them had worked lose! The trailer manufacturer (Boatmate) recommends you check them every 100 miles or so when they are new and 1 - 2 a season once they've settled in.
